Some of the Family

Aunty Tup and Jim Elliott.

Cathrine (Kathrine?) Elliott was tiny when she was born, and looked like a 'two penny doll' as sold by Woolworths, hence the nickname tup or tuppenny.

She went on to marry Luther Fear and had three more children, Frances, Lilian, and Dorothy.

This photograph was taken at 15 Prospect Place (Cirencester). It shows Frances 'granny' Elliott (seated) alongside Fred Elliott. On the left is Emily sister to Frances.

Emily was a dressmaker and did all the cooking and cleaning for Frances. Frances still held the purse strings though!

Frances had had rheumatic fever and was unable to stand for very long. Whilst the rest of the ladies in the family had white hair in later life, granny wore a black wig.

The garden was not 'up to much' but Fred kept bees, and on his allotment pigs.
